Although Irradiated PVC lead wire is used widely in high-density wiring, the wire functions well in different applications. UL 1429 and UL 1430 are suitable for internal wiring of electronic equipment, computers, business machines and appliances. UL 1431 lead wire works well for internal wiring of electronic equipment, power circuits, air conditioners, business machines and appliances.

Voltage ratings and operating temperature ranges differ among the lead wire products. UL 1429 has a temperature range of -40°C to +80°C with a voltage rating of 150 volts. UL 1430 has a temperature rating of -55°C to +105°C and a voltage rating of 300 volts. Like UL 1430, UL 1431 has a temperature range of -55°C to +105°C, but with a voltage rating of 600 volts.
